I did these lighting studies for my CGMA Digital Painting course. The assignment called for using an existing piece of work so we could focus on lighting setups rather than coming up with a nice drawing. I used a piece of concept art of Shinji Kimura’s (AD) from Tekkonkinkreet to start from.

On the left is a daytime set up that feels a bit more acidic and worn -- dingier than you might see in most cities. The right side is a night time version with a night market as the focal point.
