Title: Engineering Leadership Training Opportunity - Operations and Supply Chain

Department: Various

Immediate Supervisor: Department Supervisor

Status: Exempt

Position Purpose: To help us reach our goals we are looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join our team in Truro, NS for an exciting leadership training opportunity. In this newly created role, you will hone your educational background with hands on experience. This position will work in the factory on shift for up to 12 months and will learn the assigned department process from end to end. In addition, you will have the opportunity to become involved in various projects designed to continually refine and improve our processes.


Principle Accountabilities

  • Operate equipment on shift in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • As an operator you will lead a crew of your assigned shift.
  • Take a leadership role within the department, continually developing skills and moving to the role of process engineer and future leadership roles in the organization.
  • Learn the Intertape Performance System (IPS) and become involved with pillar work.
  • Evaluate processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Guide and coach operators and other department staff to improve productivity and process.
  • Take an active role in safety stewardship and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in specialized department training.
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or similar science degree.
  • Co-op experience in manufacturing an asset.
  • A high degree of flexibility to adapt to changes and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • A high level of enthusiasm, energy, and self-motivation.
  • Hands on contributor with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team. Team leadership
  • Strong attention to details, follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Data analysis, problem solving. Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work shift work
