The Manager is responsible for a functional group within Business Services and acts as the reference contact and Subject Matter Expert for the business and their team. The Manager works in a high volume, fast paced environment that is subject to change due to the nature of our business processes. The manager is responsible for ensuring the team is motivated and empowered to perform their job, via training, coaching, performance feedback and mentoring.

Job Description

  • People Manager with 5 direct reports including Portfolio Administrators and Senior Portfolio Administrator. This position reports Manager, Trade Support.
  • Accountable for all aspects of people management including: regular focused training, coaching , performance appraisals, personal development and performance management, and mentoring to enable team to meet challenges and team objectives. Performance management practices are implemented and followed to achieve results and professional/personal development objectives
  • Responsible for leading team to achieve/maintain service level commitments: focus on quality and professionalism
  • Maintain team competence by ensuring team skills or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development
  • Direct the overall management of assigned processes and functions, develop and operationalize processes to ensure all activities are integrated and aligned to overall business objective and client requirements
  • Manage team resources for optimal efficiency, productivity and servicing
  • Direct, train and develop staff to enable team to meet challenges thereby improving responses to changing business priorities
  • Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale
  • Share knowledge, information, skills and subject matter expertise among the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years managing a settlements operations team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of CDS & DTC rules and regulations; Bloomberg, DTCC Alert, Omgeo CTM
  • Management and knowledge of Canadian, US and International Equity and Fixed Income Markets. Other asset classes is beneficial but not required.
