Teaching Assistant/Marker
INDG 100 S90

Fall Semester 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend course orientation
  • Grade student work
  • Answer student questions through regular email communications
  • Have regular communication with class instructor
  • Provide support to students in preparation for midterms and final exams
  • Have assignments marked weekly within a restricted timeframe of Monday – Thursday
  • Forum grading of up to 100 students per week
  • Required online presence during Midterm on October 31, 1 pm - 3 pm and Final Exam on December 16, 9 am - 12 pm

Education Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Indigenous Studies is preferred
  • Post-secondary education is required
  • Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Be a self-motivator who can work to achieve results while ensuring attention to detail and compliance with reporting requirements

Hours and Technology Requirements
  • Hours are 10 hrs per week
  • Must have a stable and reliable internet connection
  • Computer with Windows operating system version 7 or higher OR MacOS version
  • 10.10.5 Yosemite or higher
  • Minimum 4GB RAM
  • Web browser Mozilla Firefox v20.0 or higher or Google Chrome v25.0 or higher
  • JavaScript enabled and Third Party Cookies enabled
  • Webcam with camera resolution 800x600 or better
  • Internet connection with minimum 300kbps download, 250kbps upload
