Position Information

Reporting to the Director, Cardiac Imaging, this position will work collaboratively with the members of the Program including the physician dyad, provide leadership, direction and supervision to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Imaging department is running effectively and efficiently. The core responsibility is to plan, organize and monitor activities, in accordance with established practice, legislation, hospital policies, rules and regulations in order provide excellent patient care delivery. Work closely with Cardiac Imaging members in creating and implementing program performance metrics. Assist the Director with staff rounding and performance reviews.
The Supervisor, Clinical Cardiac Imaging applies learning and accountability consistent with a just culture, providing staff with written instruction on safety precautions where appropriate, ensuring that staff adhere to standards of safe work and patient care, and closing the loop on staff and patient safety issues to ensure continuous improvement.

What you will bring

  • Three year Community College in a Medical Radiation Technologist Program or equivalent at a recognized educational institution;
  • Group leadership/supervisory experience of a minimum 3 years in a healthcare environmeny;
  • Minimum three (3) years technical experience in medical or cardiac imaging;
  • Practical experience in radiation safety;
  • Ability to learn and apply hospital policies and procedures, relative legislation, collective agreements, Canadian Hospital Accreditation Standards, Professional Disciplines Standards for Ontario, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulated Health Professions Act;
  • Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care teams;
  • Ability to respond to large numbers of simultaneous demands from patients, families, staff, physicians, other departments etc.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills and task prioritization skills;
  • Excellent leadership skills and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution and coaching;
  • Strong working knowledge of current technical methods and standards in Medical Imaging;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of supervising staff and a practical knowledge of managing people within a collective agreement;
  • Knowledge of Privacy Legislation;
  • Good working knowledge of ancillary systems PACS, Epic.
