Job Description

Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home is seeking a student currently enrolled in post-secondary Nursing, Health, Education or related programs to assist the site Educator with staff development projects and initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of care for Long Term Care Residents for an 8 week summer term.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

-Enrollment in a health-related post-secondary program with 1 year completed

-ability to work on multiple projects independently and as part of a team

-ability to work with competing demands

-excellent interpersonal communication skills

-strong organizational skills with attention to detail

-proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

-video editing experience is considered an asset

-knowledge and experience in care planning systems, electronic health records and documentation is considered an asset.

Tasks and Responsibilities

-Assisting in the development of training resources and presentations for projects such as, Safe Resident Handling, Wound Care, Dementia Care and End of Life Care.

-Assisting in the development of an on-line training program

-Assisting with the delivery of staff education with a focus on mental health and wellness

-Assisting with a Palliative Care research project

-Data entry, maintaining electronic training logs, file management.

-Other duties as assigned

NOTE - All staff working in any of our facilities are required to be fully vaccinated and must provide proof of vaccination upon hire.

Successful candidates are required to provide a current (within the last year) Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
