Job Description

The Sapphire Room at Crown Mansion Boutique Hotel in Qualicum Beach has an excellent opportunity for a detailed, passionate, and creative individual to join our fine dining culinary team. You must have a passion for food and love working in a kitchen setting, always putting quality first. This position offers flexibility and requires the individual to be pro-active, with the ability to multi-task, take direction, and sometimes work independently. A team player with a great sense of humor who is hardworking, fun, friendly, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude is a must.

Job Duties Include:

  • Assist with basic line prep.
  • Hot and cold line with quality and efficiency taking top priority.
  • Prepare and cook individual dishes or entire meals.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area.
  • Make sure daily cleaning jobs are completed.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proper use and knowledge of all food preparation, cooking equipment, and procedures.
  • Assist Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen duties, such as menu planning, inventory, mentoring and quality control.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience is a must.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
