JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to Senior Director, EHN Business Development Strategy and Operations, the function of the Senior Business Analyst is to provide strong analytical thinking and strategic planning to all business development projects and initiatives. A significant part of EHN Canada’s business is supported by referrals from and partnerships with a range of industries, including corporations, insurance companies, healthcare providers, government and public entities.

The Business Development (BD) team at EHN is responsible for building and nurturing these relationships. In joining this team, the Senior Business Analyst will focus on creating efficiency and effectiveness in our current business operations and strategic planning for future initiatives. Working with all areas of the organization from admissions to clinical to marketing, you will support the implementation of your strategies from conception and analytical business case building to deployment, measuring their impact through analysis and monitoring. You will spend time gathering and visualizing data, building business cases, delivering presentations, and influencing senior leadership on critical decisions.

JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • Study, model and improve processes related to Business Development activities.
  • Perform market research as needed to support business expansion into new segments.
  • Analyze trends and patterns in existing account relationships to foster continued growth.
  • Financial modeling and analysis; forecasting and budget development.
  • Use analytic tools to translate data into business insights and help leadership better understand business development activity and allocate resources more effectively (e.g., Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools).
  • Assist the strategic plan, in areas such as business analytics, competitor analysis and economic modelling.
  • In collaboration with EHN Business Development Leadership, support improved operational efficiencies through assessment of administrative, technological, and staff issues related to optimal procurement and maintenance of referral relations.
  • In consultation/collaboration with Business Development Leadership, help develop and implement a functional and strategic plan for growing EHN’s referral business.
  • In consultation/collaboration with Business Development Leadership, help define and implement the organizational supports and structures required for excellent customer service and account management.
  • Support Business Development Leadership in the efficient and effective management of the team using analytics and data to track progress of new and existing accounts.
  • Help streamline operations, ensure that administrative functions operate smoothly, including BD rep/team bonus calculations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Inpatient, Outpatient, Marketing, Admissions) to establish growth strategies to support Business Development’s performance goals.
  • Create and manage Business Development dashboards, target tracking, and census projection; experience with Microsoft Power BI is ideal.
  • Ongoing analysis and reporting using data from the CRM (Salesforce), EMR, and similar databases.
EDUCATION:
  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or similar field that requires rigorous research, analysis and reporting
SKILLS:
  • 3-5 years' experience in a role that requires business analysis, reporting, and modelling
  • 3+ years using advanced Excel to create models and reports in business settings
  • 2+ years mapping and improving workflows
  • Health care experience an asset
  • Ability to solve problems and present comprehensive solutions
  • Detail-oriented: Possess an extremely high attention to detail
