NielsenIQ is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Financial Services Technology team in Toronto.
NielsenIQ's Financial Services team uses alternative datasets to help global public equity investors, including hedge funds, mutual funds, and pension funds, make informed investment decisions. Leveraging deep expertise in data analytics and technology, we develop market-research products that uncover changes in consumer behavior and market trends, providing valuable insights to our clients. As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders to analyze business needs, gather requirements, manage projects, and lead cross-functional teams in implementing effective solutions to meet our business objectives.

Responsibilities
- Analyze business needs and requirements, working with various stakeholders to elicit and document project requirements, while ensuring that they are aligned with the Financial Services (FS) team goals and objectives
- Work with the FS management team to understand project scope, prioritize projects, and allocate resources effectively
- Work with the Account Management team to manage the backlog of Data Support tickets, prioritize tickets for Engineers, and monitor their progress to ensure timely resolution. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for continuously improving the support process, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and identify areas for optimization
- Lead project management activities, including project planning, execution, and monitoring, risk management, and quality management
- Facilitate agile meetings such as daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint review, and iteration retrospective, in the role of a Scrum Master
- Manage data operations and engineering backlogs, ensuring successful sprint releases
- Resolve project conflicts, address dynamic business requirements, and maintain high levels of operational performance
- Document business requirements using appropriate methods, including Epics, User Stories, BRDs, Business System Documents, Narratives, Models, Prototypes, and Use Cases
- Document data flows, high-level documentation of data pipelines, and business rules to ensure alignment with requirements and project goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience as a Senior Business Analyst
- 7-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a track record of successfully managing requirements on large and complex projects or programs
- Hands-on experience working with data (SQL) at least a basic-level and an understanding of database concepts (such as data modeling) and data management practices
- Experience in project management and leading agile teams
- Expertise in requirements planning, prioritization, and elicitation techniques, including stakeholder analysis, effort estimation, and prototyping
- Advanced knowledge of strategy analysis, including understanding business goals and objectives, assessing capability gaps, and determining solution scope and approach with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, and/or Agile
- Expertise in requirements analysis and documentation, including scope modeling, business process, user interface design, non-functional requirements, requirements management and communication, and backlog management
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain healthy working relationships with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional partners
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, SharePoint)
