ESS Direct, Powered by Vertical Staffing Resources, is recruiting for a growing manufacturing facility for a Plant Operations Manager. This is a Permanent Placement.

Location: Barrie, ON

Responsibilities for Plant Operations Manager:

As a Plant Operation Manager, you will implement manufacturing policies and programs which guide the plant in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. You will also position, direct, and coordinate these activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

Define and recommend manufacturing objectives; develops specific short- and long-range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests. Directs the manufacture of products at lowest cost consistent with established specifications as to quality and quantity.

Direct preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.

Formulate and install standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures.

Establish, approve, and monitor manufacturing and related subordinate departmental budgets.

Devises methods, policies, and procedures to ensure Manufacturing objectives are attained.

Monitors quality reports, and ensures suppliers are meeting company quality standards.

Responsible for keeping up to date on equipment changes, additions, and modifications.

Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies.

Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Senior Leadership team.

Requirements for Plant Operations Manager:

Degree in Engineering, Business or other related discipline

5-10 years successfully leading a manufacturing organization

Supervisory and staff development experience

Ability to implement lean manufacturing practices

Maintain a satisfactory attendance record

Must maintain confidentiality of employee, department, and company business.

Must utilize a laptop or PC routinely.

Must have a valid passport or travel credentials.

Physical Requirements:

Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations

Required to stand for prolonged periods

The ability to lift up to 50lbs. is required, with the ability to occasionally lift up to 75lbs., preferred

May perform duties requiring employee to intermittently bend and twist

Pay Rate for Plant Operations Manager:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: $100,000.00 + per year plus overtime, depending on experience.
