DUTIES

The Pharmacy Technician is an integral member of the Pharmacy team and is accountable for many aspects of hospital related drug distribution. The Pharmacy Technician provides excellent customer service and quality in a safe and timely manner.

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for all aspects of unit dose distribution, including order entry, dispensing, checking and delivery of medications to the patient care areas. The Pharmacy technician is also responsible for restocking the Automated Dispensing cabinets, narcotic and controlled drug management, prepackaging of unit doses, and inventory control functions. The Pharmacy technician is also involved in quality improvement initiatives and other tasks as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacy Technician and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

2. Experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred

3. Demonstrated computer skills, Meditech experience is preferred.

4. Familiarity with the AcuDose system is preferred.

5. Incumbent must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

6. Demonstrated problem solving skills.

7. Ensures that patient information is kept confidential in accordance with PHIPPA.

8. Works safely at all times, in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $26.15-$28.20 per hour

  • Night shift
  • On call
  • Weekend availability
