Primary Focus
Covers the day to day activities of the order desk. Learns all other job duties of the order process team and invoicing functions. Proactively assists and supports the order desk process team to be productive and exceed customer expectations.
Develops increasing competence in the role and is able to contribute to identifying potential process improvements when asked for input.
Liaison with in town and out of town Account Managers, customers and warehouse staff.
Specific Accountabilities
Accounts
· Prepare invoices
· Review invoices
· Provide assistance with “house accounts”
· Take orders on the phone and/or by email for represented accounts.
· EDI – Electronic invoice posting
Orders
· Organize and process customer orders for in town and out of town accounts
· Provides updates on orders as required
· Release orders for the warehouse to pick
Overflow
· Assist other team members as needed
· Any other reasonable duties as required
Working Conditions
Office based, may involve visits into the warehouse
Repetitive tasks using computer
Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to be well organized and productive in a high volume environment
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail and composure
Positive / go to the ball personality. Finds work enjoyable and keeps themselves productive
Loves to work with people
Excellent English writing and verbal skills
Competence with EDI and electronic invoice posting is an advantage
Order desk experience desirable but emphasis is on accurate data entry, strong listening and questioning skills, commitment to follow through, value based customer service and excellent telephone technique
Grocery, natural or specialty food industry experience desirable
Excel is an asset
