About The Role


The Operations Finance Manager reports directly to Operations Finance Director and will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting and financial support across a portfolio of projects for a business unit. Responsible for leading a team of accountants and clerks while implementing and maintaining project accounting processes, in accordance with company policies and procedures, to ensure clear, accurate, consistent and relevant project and business unit financial information and analysis. Acts as a business partner and key contributor with the senior leaders of the business unit and a representative of the finance function.

As an Operations Finance Manager at Graham you will:

  • Provides leadership and supervision to staff; responsible for providing feedback, orientation, training, coaching and scheduling.
  • Responsible for the business unit’s general transactional accounting processes, reconciliations, and month-end procedures, and ensures compliance with deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to government, provincial/state regulations, and taxes to ensure compliance at the project level and branch/business unit level and consults with tax department as required.
  • Responsible for compliance with documented accounting processes and involved in identifying, developing, and implementing improvements.
  • Consolidates and analyzes cashflow forecasts; responsible for AR reports and collections.
  • Leads the deliverables for audit work requirements (external & client) in the business unit.
  • Leads the financial support of operations in regular monthly branch/business unit reviews, ensuring accurate and complete forecasts for accurate financial statements.
  • Deliver consistent, accurate, relevant, and timely management reporting for operations.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is required.
  • 8 - 12 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in managing finance teams.
  • Experience in Construction, Engineering. Infrastructure and/or Water experience would be an asset.
  • Advanced job costing knowledge
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and system controls, SAP preferred.
  • Recognizing the necessity of adhering to deadlines
