We are offering a traditional AMI Montessori curriculum practicing the core values and methods following Maria Montessori’s pedagogy. We want to build an inclusive community with all children, staff, and parents. Together we are looking to build something that will help the children of tomorrow.

Le Soleil Montessori Infant Community is a brand new school located in East Vancouver with a capacity for 12 children.

We are currently searching for a Second Assistant to the Montessori Guide.

We are looking for employees to start as early as May 1st, 2023.

Job qualifications and description:

Second Assistant ECE or ECEA:

• Must have ECE certification
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Current Criminal Record Check
• 2 character references

The job of this assistant will primarily be to support the First Assistant. Other responsibilities of the Second Assistant will be to care for and help the children with changing, cleaning, and eating, and all other daily occurrences.

Please note that priority will be given to candidates trained through the MTCBC.

A successful candidate must meet the following Criteria:

• A warm, friendly, and calm disposition
• Caring and attentive to children
• Able to actively support and coordinate with the guide and other assistant
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on supportive teamwork
• Display flexibility, accountability and integrity
• Highly organized, detail orientated, an observant
• Display accountability and with a good work ethic

Additional Skills:

• Maintain infant community equipment and assist in housekeeping (daily and weekly)
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

• Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Montessori: 2 years (preferred)

• ECE and/or Montessori (required)

Work Location: In person
