Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Manager of Executive Services plays a key role within the Office of the CEO, providing proactive support by anticipating and mitigating issues and actionable items within the CEO’s portfolio and the overall organization. Sharp, detailed, and accurate communication will be part of your DNA as you will develop and complete a wide range of documents to support the CEO and or the portfolio, including briefing notes, reports and presentations. This crucial accountability ensures that the CEO is adequately briefed and prepared for his or her activities and reflects the ability of the Manager to anticipate the CEOs needs to deliver on his or her accountabilities. The position serves as a key point of contact in the Office of the CEO for external and internal stakeholders to ensure information is prioritized, collected, collated, and disseminated. This includes acting as a liaison with municipal, provincial, and federal government, as well as Alberta Health Services. The Manager is also responsible for the execution of executive visibility, with a focus on shepherding external and internal speaking, media and relationship building opportunities, by researching and vetting events in partnership with stakeholders. The position requires an innate ability to develop briefing materials for speaking and media opportunities, to drive executive preparation and ensure messaging success. The successful candidate will act on behalf of the CEO, where appropriate, in fulfilling accountabilities and to achieve the objectives of the department – from specific operational items to high level strategic items— by participating, leading, coordinating and/or supporting projects or initiatives as required by the CEO or in partnership with senior leadership (including strategic, budget, or operational planning).
Baccalaureate degree in a health care management, business, or communication/public relations required. A minimum of five years health care, government, non-for-profit, or related experience required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Proven ability in promoting a strong team environment with collaboration to develop and achieve shared goals and objectives. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and presentations with the ability to craft a compelling and passionate narrative. A firm understanding and commitment to advancing the mission, vision, and strategic directions of Covenant Health. A high degree of independence in decision making and creativity is required. A clear vision of the health system and continuum of care. Must be flexible and able to determine and manage multiple competing priorities due to a wide variety of responsibilities. Ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact in all activities. Ability to function and thrive in a dynamic fast paced environment with a high level of complexity and pressure.
Valid driver’s license and vehicle required for travel between sites.
Masters in health services administration, business, or other equivalent preparation preferred. Project management and health care experience considered an asset.
