Job Description

Accounting Services is an integral part of the Finance team, providing oversight for the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit and collections processes, including managing several team members and addressing process-related issues with respect to the ERP system.

The Manager, Accounting Services is responsible for a large team and a high volume of transactions, covering all transactional accounting cycles; exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills are keys to success.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Leading a team of 8-9 team members
    : (4 AR, 4 AP and 1 co-op) – Include monitoring work efforts and performance, hiring, coaching, motivating, supporting developmental activities, conducting formal evaluations, and applying appropriate discipline

  • Managing the Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes:
    Ensure accuracy of transactions, prompt cash collection, cash application, and credit oversight

  • Managing the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes:
    Ensure vendor invoices, employee expenses and related taxes are recorded and paid accurately and promptly, issues are resolved, and internal processes are followed

  • Leading projects:
    Include leading design and implementation of improved controls, processes, and procedures

  • Supporting changes to AR and AP system modules:
    Assist with various aspects of relevant modules as part of system upgrades, implementations, and rate changes

  • Facilitating internal courses and enforcing policies:
    Educate the organization on procure-to-pay processes and the expense reimbursement policy and system


Key qualifications include:


  • Over 5 years of recent, related and progressive experience preferably with at least 2 years in a management capacity within a mid- to large-sized complex organization leading a team of 5+ personnel

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Working knowledge of Tier 1 ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud

  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills applied in developing well founded conclusions

  • Experience with sizeable process improvements and transformations leading to increased efficiencies

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and listening skills
