We’re looking for a Software Developer Intern/Co-Op - 8 Months in person - Ottawa
Join the Entrust Research and Development team in Ottawa. We are a Canadian center of excellence for computer security innovation. You will gain experience and develop skills through challenging work assignments that also add value to the business.
You will: Collaborate with a team of senior developers who work on Entrust Identity Enterprise.
This role is hybrid, which means the selected candidate would have an opportunity to work from our office located in Kanata, ON a portion of their time, based on company needs.
How you will make an impact:
-
Design and develop new features, in Java, JavaScript, XSL/XPath and JSP.

Design and code unit tests and test infrastructure in Java/C#/JavaScript/Junit to verify functionality of Entrust software
-
Build with tools such as Gradle, Git, Jira, Confluence and other open-source tools
-
Set up development environments
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
-
Enrolled in an undergraduate Computer Science or Software Engineering program
-
Completed at least two years of course work in your current program (Please indicate if 3rd or 4th year student in your resume)
-
Good with details, time management and planning.
-
Great at communications and writing.
-
Can coordinate your activities within a team of energetic developers.
-
Always consider the customer’s point of view.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
You have learned to program in several different languages including C# and Perl
-
You are comfortable working with Windows/Unix/Linux family of operating systems

You are interested in learning about Authentication, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, X.509, Smart cards,

You understand object-oriented design and apply design patterns
-
You have used tools to manage, build, and test code that you have written.
