Job Description

Our client, a Brantford based, rapidly growing Rockwell Recognized Systems Integrator manufacturing Specialized Machinery and integrating full Packaging Systems. Their client base in North America wide with a focus in Paper Converting and Food & Beverage industries.

We are looking for a hands-on Controller to help enable and participate in charting the growth trajectory for the company. This person in this position is a key member of the managing team. In this flat organization your contributions are expected and valued both as a doer and a thinker.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of accounting and financial functions
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
  • Ensure conformity of data; i.e. GL account applications, proper supporting documentation; assist in establishing and securing proper internal controls
  • Prepare subledger and bank account reconciliations
  • Produce client invoices
  • Process and maintain AR and cash receipt transactions
  • Lead the communication with customers related to financial matters
  • Transactions in a Multi currency environment
  • Preparation of monthly HST returns
  • Preparation of Biweekly Payroll
  • Remittance of payroll deductions, year end reporting
  • Administration of employee benefit programs
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Formulation of budgets and variance analysis
  • Prepare year-end reporting requirements
  • Assist in the analysis and testing of new software as required
  • Supervision and guidance for Office Manager
  • Additional duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Accounting designation
  • 5 years+ of full cycle accounting
  • Self starter requiring little supervision
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and able to work effectively as a team player
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QBO
  • Working knowledge of ERP system
