Position: Finance Manager

Location: Fort McKay Head Office

Schedule: 40 Hours per week. Monday to Thursday (Alternating Friday) - Hybrid

Role Summary:


We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our journey! If you are the ideal candidate, you are seasoned in all aspects of the accounting cycle and have strong financial analysis skills. You will collaborate with the Director of Finance and Finance Team to determine more effective ways to accomplish the daily accounting department operations and month end requirements. If you have a solid background in corporate financial management and a strong desire to become a part of a dynamic team, you may be the perfect person to fill this position.


Your exceptional ability to provide leadership, coordination of month end duties and efficient accounting department daily operations will be key, while ensuring the company account procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provides necessary assistance required for accurate and timely monthly financial package.
  • Manages full-cycle accounting for accounts payable and payroll while implementing efficiency while ensuring internal controls are met.
  • Manages Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist
  • Reviews and authorizes the processing of bi-weekly and any other Payroll and Accounts payable related payments ensuring both are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Ideally would have experience processing payroll and accounts payable and is familiar with payroll legislation.
  • Assists with year-end audit.
  • Provides supervision, coaching and leadership to direct reports.
  • Backs-up and assists Director of Finance
  • Works with Procurement to ensure PO management is maintained.
  • Takes reasonable care for own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others who may be affected by your behavior. The team member is expected to review and follow all policies, and actively participate and promote all Bouchier and site safety processes and efforts always.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:


  • Completion of CPA designation
  • 3+ years experience in a supervisory capacity and 5+ year in finance role
  • Advanced/Master Excel user
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAVISION an asset
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. All applicants must have ability to Read, Speak and write fluently in English.
