Job Description

A key aspect of the ReVisionz capabilities is to assist asset-intensive organizations with addressing the quality of their asset information – tags, engineering and project records, the flow of records across their project and operations lifecycles and the inter-relationships of this information. The Data Analyst understands asset information and works closely with the Content Enrichment / Migration Consultant to assess the underlying nature of the client's asset information. Responsibilities include:


  • Collaborate with the Content Analysts/ Consultants and business unit SME's to rigorously interrogate the extracted asset information and assess its state against the business rules as well as industry best practices.
  • Use SQL skills to apply rules to the information so as to parse the details as applicable. Align the findings to the rules to identify compliance and gaps.
  • Prepare XL and/or dashboard reports with which to effectively present findings.
  • Use business analyst skills including process model development, workflow, swim-lane and agile workshop processes with which to undertake engagements.
  • Facilitate workshops, providing asset information domain expertise and act as a liaison with business unit stakeholders on issues uncovered.
  • Interact and communicate professionally with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the actual underlying needs.
  • Understand and develop the means to focus on both project level records and the publication of them to the plant operations vault.
  • Support the technical Extract/Transform/Load team members who codify the rules, including but not limited to:
    • completion of key requirements and deliverables.
    • validation of content enrichment rules with key stakeholders.
    • contribution to the code review process.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years in more complex client information settings applying formal data assessment methodologies to create and document assessment and action plans/rules development.
  • Direct domain experience in Engineering Document Management or Engineering Information Systems for Owner / Operators or EPC's, including:
  • engineering information standards (e.g., tag and document classification, tag and document metadata, tag and document states).
  • engineering information management processes.
  • understanding of the engineering information lifecycle and how this supports Engineering, Construction, C&SU, Operations, Maintenance & Reliability, etc.
  • existing engineering information management system(s), databases and legacy data (e.g., based on background with such software as Hexagon, Bentley, Aveva, OpenText, McLaren, etc.).
  • Strong experience in applying SQL to datasets upon which to parse and assess the information held on those datasets.
  • Strong experience in sophisticated presentation of complex information in XL and/or Dashboard technology.
  • Experience with engineering information migration.
  • Excellent skills in transforming complex data-driven information into presentations and products that can be effectively understood by and used by stakeholders.

  • Experience with multiple project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
