Job Description

THE POSITION:

  • The Camp Counselor will be responsible for the education, safety, and overall welfare of all children participating in the summer camp program. Their duties include planning the camp activities before the start of the summer, working with the Children’s Programs Coordinator to comply with organizational policies and procedures, and managing the overall content and structure of the daily program to ensure the overall health and safety of all campers and staff.
  • The Summer Camp Counselor should be able to adapt to situations and problem solve on their own. This position requires a punctual and compassionate leader, who is willing to assist in providing the best camp experience through effective leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Post-Secondary Student or recent graduate with a degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Outdoor Recreation, Recreation & Leisure or equivalent.

· Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role

· - Summer camp experience

- Previous summer camp coordinator experience is an asset

- Experience with social media as a marketing tool

- Experience with designing and overseeing the delivery of recreation lesson plans, games and activities

· Strong organizational skills, able to work on multiple tasks effectively

· Able to work effectively as a team-player and independently

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

· Excellent problem solving and customer service skills

· Mandatory Requirement: Standard First Aid and CPR-C

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.50 per hour

Work Location: In person
