Job Summary:

Our Automation Services team is looking for people who are passionate about making changes and improvements within BMO. As an Automation Services Engineer, you will be working to continuously develop. implement, and maintaining automated solutions within our organization. The role will rely on a strong technical understanding of process and automation, while working with our subject matter experts and key stakeholders to document their problems and requirements and work with them to build solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Ansible, GitHUB, and a good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, Observability, Instrumentation, and Telemetry. Exposure to ServiceNow workflows is a benefit. The candidate should also possess strong leadership skills, as they will be expected to provide leadership and guidance to other teams in the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance on modern software development practices and enable teams to more easily analyze and diagnose issues in complex, distributed systems, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance, improve reliability, and enhance the user experience.
• Build and maintain observability tools that provide actionable insights into improving system reliability and the end-user experience.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated solutions using Ansible.
• Develop and maintain GitHUB repositories and provide guidance to other teams on best practice configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Site Reliability Engineering initiatives.
• Analyze dashboard metrics and make suggestions on improvement opportunities based on the output.
• Identify toil in the organization and partner with teams to drive efficiency using our products
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team members and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with Ansible and GitHUB.
• Intermediate position however new graduates are welcomed to apply
• Good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering, Observability,

Instrumentation, and Telemetry.

• Exposure to APM tools like Dynatrace.
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems along with container technologies such as OpenShift.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Bash, Powershell, JSON or YAML.
• Excellent communication skills.
