• High school diploma;
• Community college Health Care Assistant certification or equivalent;
• Six (6) months recent experience in the delivery of direct patient care;
• Knowledge of universal blood and body fluid precautions;
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques;
• Demonstrates a respectful attitude to patients, the public and colleagues;
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively without constant supervision;
• Demonstrates ability to co-operate with others in a high stress, busy workplace.

If there are no qualified candidates who have 6 months recent direct patient care experience, candidates who are enrolled or have graduated with a diploma or degree from a college or university Health Care related program and meet all of the other qualifications will then be considered.
